Peace Love Joy

Join us in November 2012 for Peace Love Joy, a three-week, online holiday photography workshop led by Aimee Giese. Throw out the hassle of holiday photo card creation with last year’s fruitcake and let the fun begin! Whether you’re a bumbling beginner or a seasoned shutter whisperer, man, woman, or teen, this course will have something for you!

Class price is $39 and includes daily posts (Monday through Friday) and weekly activities to create, design and edit your own holiday photographs! Course begins November 5 and runs through November 16.

You can view some of Aimee’s past holiday cards and read last year’s blog post on what to expect from this class.

Registration is now closed.

Course Description

What time of day is best for outside shots? Why is white not the best color to wear for a photo shoot? How do you set the timer on your camera? Do you have to be a Photoshop guru to have the best holiday photo card on your in-laws mantle? Often times just thinking about the holiday card can make us feel anything but joyful. That’s where a little know-how goes a long way!

During this course, the uber-talented Aimee Giese (aka Greeblemonkey) will help you on your way to creating, editing, designing and (oh yes!), even ordering your holiday photos!* Get your kids, your dog, or your grandma to look their best for the camera or skip them all and go for something a little more artsy.

The end result is only half the fun here! Aimee seriously loves the process of photography and is the perfect guide for you! She will not only help you capture the shot, but also to enjoy the journey from concept to card-stock!*

It’s all about Peace Love & Joy as Aimee shares with you tricks of the trade and her own secrets for putting together and pulling off the seemingly impossible!

Whether you are working with a point and shoot or the latest and greatest DSLR, this class is for you! Added bonus? Photography tips that will last long past the holiday season. So bring on your trimmed trees, your menorahs or your Yule logs. The perfect holiday card knows no boundaries!

Instructor

Aimee GieseAimee Giese is a photographer, graphic designer, web developer and blogger from Denver. She started in design right after college in 1991, moved to web development in 1998 and began blogging in 2005. Her love for photography started at age 8, when she received her very first camera. She started taking classes and working in the darkroom from high school throughout college, and graduated with a photography minor. Since then, photography has always been a freelance gig, a serious hobby, and one of the great loves of her life. Two of her other great loves are her husband Bryan and son Declan, who share her affection for photography and art – all while trying to avoid being captured by the camera lens at all costs.

Aimee blogs at Greeblemonkey, works at Giese Media and uploads a ton of pics to Flickr. As you may see in her photos, her favorite subjects are nature, travel, music, and most of all people. Capturing the essence of a moment? That would be like cotton candy stuffed into an ice cream cone with cherries on top, right?
